Raining hard, 69 degrees. Let’s go sailing! It is the middle of July – summer time! 11 people showed up so we had both Js and the Cat
Gray Jay with MS and HM. Blah: SSW dying from 18 to 4. Perfect start but could not hold it. Lessons: get trim right before the start, go east to Houghton even if it seems wrong. Always! Port pole with a quick gybe because we were with the big boats. After 8 minutes gybed and the wind went west and picked up. We barely made the Champaign but had a good angle and learned a lot (release the twing!). Shortened race because the wind died. Picked up later from SSW – winter trends. Global cooling.
Someone sent me the address to a Seattle-local-weather-blog. Evidently the Seattle area has had about 88 minutes of summer (as defined by temperatures in the 80s, or something like that).
Wishing you sunshine!
