Rattlesnake Ledge is probably the best mountain trail for tourists in Washington. It is not long, very well-maintained, close, and leads to a great cliff overlooking 2 lakes, wilderness (Seattle water supply watershed) and a mountain range. This was obvious today because the trail was crowded – about 40% foreigners (mostly Asian), 30% college students on dates and 20% young parents with young kids.
It was clear and cool when I started and my goal was to hike up to the snow line. It got cold as the promised front came through. I may only have to go out and get the paper tomorrow to be in snow.

About 5 miles RT and 1,400′ gain to 2500′
Beautiful images! I am not sure I would take Dulcinea up there though. Come to think of it, I’m scared of heights. . . I’d be on my belly.
