Mt Adams

Time to head home – did 3 short hikes:
   Takhlakh Lake
   Mt Adams lava beds
Layser Cave (Indian cave abandoned 3,500 years ago when Mt St Helens blew up before)

Foxglove is my favorite wildflower. It comes in several colors and grows only at certain elevations. Fortunately, it prefers the gravel soil of forest road ditches. It is quite poisonous.

Sorry for the repetition in the photos but I could not choose between them.

  1. I am loving your blog, Dan. . . your photographs are phenomenal and your travels make me want to come see you so badly! 🙂 Keep’em coming!

  2. Ah. Foxglove’s preference for certain elevation and type of soil explains why the neighbor’s attempt is failing. That’s ok with me. The shriveled up stalk is right next to the mailbox, and nothing else. Maybe it was a gift.
