Adventures Paddling Rowing on Beaver Lake

Rowing on Beaver Lake

Took the rowboat out after a couple of years on the trailer.

It was Opening Day for Fishing Season. Lots of Dads with their kids. Very noisy. It reminded me of a Calvin & Hobbes cartoon. Many of the kids seemed to think that yelling, throwing rocks and running through the woods would attract the freshly planted trout.

After a row across the lake (and getting 2 compliments on the boat), I tied up to a tree at the City Park and found out that the Park is connected to a nature reserve and a horse park. I ended up walking about 2 miles through the woods. Then I took another row around the lake, including the side lake to the NE.

Despite the noise, the kids and the traffic, I saw an 11 yr old boy with 4 keepers right at the busy boat ramp.

Got another compliment on the boat at the launch (from a teenage girl!)

Here are some older pictures of the boat in south Puget Sound.
