Adventures Sailing Slog 18/2013

Slog 18/2013

Not a race. Just a gorgeous day over 80 and wind up to 20. Singlehanded GJ – reefed the main so I was always comfortable. Wonderful sailing but sort of a downer because as I was heading out a USCG helicopter arrived for a rescue but had to switch to recovery within 200 feet of our dock. Happens so often in this lake. Then an hour later, I pulled two teenage girls off a beach floatie in the middle of the lake – no other boats around and the authorities were preoccupied with the recovery so I, unfortunately, give my self another save – they would not have made it. Later saw a complete motor boat idiot – Darwin was looming. Sigh.

  1. GORGEOUS weather. I guess that makes everyone go out on the lake. No clouds, even. That’s amazing. (Our only cloud today is from the Pine Creek fire.)

  2. Bummer of a day, butthank goodness you were there and saw the two morons out there. They owe you big time.
