J convinced me late Sat night (he knows when to get me) to go the Sounders game today – a semifinal match against the team from Hollywood and E!. Word was that we were favored but it ended up 4-0 clobber with some very pretty goals, clean play and good officiating (unfortunately the finals, which we lost in penalty kicks was not – if the league is going to rig matches, it seems like they should rig them in favor of the team that brings in the most money – conspiracy theories abound. Such drama in sports, by the way, really enjoying what Olympycs we are allowed to see here. Big fail on the part of NBsee though. I would like to watch sailing, or any other water sport but all I see is Craig Sagers suits and Bob CostUs – – note to self! calm down. Conclude the rant)
Because we scored 3 goals the fans get a free haircut. So now I have been to 2 MLS games and both times I won a haircut though it is becoming less of a value as I age 🙂 and tacos – can’t remember the promotional reason.
It was close to a 100 degrees in the nosebleed section, fortunately I told J to get tickets in the shade. A very good time.
I have rants about the network coverage too… it started off better than expected; but on the first day they announced that they had showed us more than they did during the entire 1964 Olympics. That was an omen.
