Adventures Sailing Wednesday sailing 4 – (5)

Wednesday sailing 4 – (5)

The calendar says it is almost summer – it was 53 degrees at noon and the furnace was on. Turned out to be a nice night though. Sailed with DT and PL and GJ.  Nice S wind but big oscillations to the SW because we were sailing under Carillon Pt.

Race 1 – I drove. Tight race. 2nd, then 1st, then 3rd at windward mark. Technical crewwork race. They all were. At leeward mark got inside position and won.

Race 2- DT. Good start. Poor upwind but great call on huge SW shift. In close 2nd place on leeward leg but tangled the spin halyard into a softball and lost our position. 3rd.

Race 3 – DT. Another good start. Fair upwind. In 1st place at leeward mark but had pole problems and lost our  lead. 2nd.

Race 4 – Me. Port start. Won that. Passed just at windward mark  (lesson – sail low and fast). Passed on downwind. Spin control issues. 2nd by 6 boatlengths.

Did not put new batteries in my new toy so it only recorded one start. Here is a new approach posting video. Something called YouTube?
