Very little progress lately – much motivation is gone because the Jones Island trip is now history. The Coho would have handled the ‘big’ water of last weekend much better. I had a chance to discuss finishing techniques with one of my boat-building mentors last weekend and it may happen that I can meet another one next weekend so I may wait to re-start serious work. The boat is very close to done (it is paddleable now) and taking up space in the garage, so it won’t be long.
In the meantime – recycling! Here is what I did with the wood I bought to use as a boatbuilding platform. It is now a custom-built, very durable (but poorly detailed) desk for my son at college. Still smells of the painted finish in this photo but that probably does not come through in the pic.
🙂 Lovely!
