You’d think after yesterday I would have had enough, but no, my plan was to paddle Potholes near Moses Lake on the way back from Spokane. On the way there I saw Corral Lake. It looked interesting so I took a quick paddle with the camera on the back of the kayak. It made for interesting video but, of course, the camera gets splashed with every stroke. It will only work if I mount it higher.
Potholes was a disappointment. It is not that interesting. The water was up so there were not many islands but lots of mosquitoes. Lots of different birds: egrets, pipers, swans, geese, gulls and (I hope someone can tell me otherwise) 3 pelicans.
I went instead to paddle on one of the Quincy Lakes. I picked Burke Lake. What a nice place to stop and take a short hike. Put this on your list if you are driving through Washington. Just off I-90.
