This is pretty boring. Just a log for me of Wednesday night sailing. 1st Wed this year though. Light wind. Tonight was off Laurelhurst. 2 races in classic lake wind, which is unusual for here in June.
On Gray Jay with PL. SE wind that went WSW after I dropped the start line so we made up a course. Perfect start forced Bullet and Moya to tack off. Dominated with wind from a consistent direction. Won wire-to-wire. PL drove race 2: 8 boat lengths behind at start. The wind died halfway up but we stuck with one tack and were 8~10 behind at windward. Downwind was a reach, then a spin set, then a gybe, the a gybe, then a 180 shift to close-hauled in 20 feet – but we saw it coming and had a better takedown. Unfortunately the wind clocked and we overstood. Lost by 10 boat lengths. Coincidence?
