Still camping at Kalaloch – no shade at my campsite, it was 95+ degrees in the tent and I was faced with 17 hours of sun – 16 hours more than my dermatologist recommends (poor me). Solution? Rain Forest! Less than a 90-minute drive and I was hiking along the Hoh river and in the Hoh Rain Forest. Faithful readers will know that this represent a significant milestone in my as-yet-unrecognized-for-its-greatness series: Moss on Stuff. Despite the drive time to the Hoh (and to Forks afterwards to pick up some ice from the Twilight store), I still spent lots of time of on the beach and took some terrific photos (my opinion).
