Although this event was the reason for the whole trip, these two days were also the most planned. Somehow the less planned days of this trip were more memorable. Certainly fewer pictures from this event.
The weekend went great. I had fun and entertaining dinner with old classmates at a great little outdoor place Friday evening. I attended 4 panel discussions with highly-qualified articulate fellow graduates on Italian business culture, European energy policy, the role of universities in democracy and, of course, Ukraine.
I felt fortunate to be included and grateful these many years later to have attended SAIS and still be benefitting from the experience even in 2022. Thanks Mom and Dad for encouraging and enabling me.
Were you surprised by all of the graffiti? How different was Bologna now compared to the olden days of your stay? Did you notice much different in the interactions of people with each other, or with “outsiders” like yourself? I have always wanted to go back to Toledo. . .
