Anthony Lake is near the treeline at 7,070 feet. Small lake full of fishermen and views.
More of a serene float than a paddle, immediately followed by a 4 mile hike up to another two lakes and then to a crest with view over the lakes. Huffing and puffing at that altitude!

Drove a loop through the mountain range back to the hotel through a town called Sumpter. Very interesting place historically. A gold rush town where they really tore apart the valley floor in the 1860’s. Includes some unexpected Chinese history…
My Dad would have loved today’s trip.
