I have not been to the Space Needle this century. Of course you never see your own town unless someone visits. Lately, our visitors have tended more towards the non-touristy type – in fact one group last year took all our camping stuff and the truck and headed to the Olympic Peninsula for a few days 🙂
We have a visitor from Taiwan this week (that is her behind the smiley face beer in a Japanese Karaoke bar in Taipei), it was clear and near 60 today so I took her hiking, snow walking and waterfall picture taking.
Moss Monster refers to one of our few language hurdles. She was trying to say that the moss-covered trees on our hike (Ollalie State Park) looked like monsters and I helpfully corrected her saying it was moss not mosster. We eventually figured it out. She is a professional artist/teacher and will be painting some Moss Monster works in the near future – hope I can snag one.
But from now in I will never be able see moss-covered tree without thinking of green monsters reaching out.
