Needed to go to Portland for a meeting. It is a morning meeting so I drove down the day before to get in a hike. Multnomah Falls is not an undiscovered place – it is heavily promoted and much photographed. I included a classic shot for reference. This is the 3rd time I have done this hike – the reason is the 0.8 miles above the falls. It is a fairy land with moss, rocky overhangs and many small waterfalls. The loop I took went over to the next valley of falls (Wahkeena). The forecast was for rain but we had sun, then rain, then sun. The NW.
Stats: 6.2 miles and 1,600 ft of elevation gain.
