I bought myself a fancy Android tablet in January to help me keep up with the modern world. Nicest model they had. Within 5 weeks I cracked the screen. Since the screen and the touch pad are fused together, that meant it was useless unless I replaced the most expensive component (over 50% of the cost). Paying someone else to do that meant weeks of no tablet and for less I could buy the middle version new. So I figured as long as I am trying to educate myself about this stuff I would do it myself. Bought the raw component from China and watched a YouTube video on how to do it. Completely disassembled it into about 50 pieces (including screws and cables), had to invent a couple of steps because I had a newer model. Put the whole thing back together again without any pieces left over, and it works! The YouTube video was just over 19 minutes long and it took me two hours, but I did it. Maybe now FoxConn will hire me to work in Shenzhen building iPadMinis!
Not much of an adventure because I was sitting at the dinner table the whole time, but still a new experience. And I completed it. Maybe no more Mr 95%?
Congratulations! that’s terrific!
Awesome!
Great!
Heheheh. “No more Mr 95%” Do they call them MiniPads?
