Solstice means sun stands still – or that it rises and sets in the same place for a couple of days either side. That means less than 8 hours of sideways sun here.
Status update: the bow and stern look pretty good with the patches. The sanding makes the boat smooth but it looks awful – until the varnishing starts. Have to say that the hatch cinches seem to be a total FAIL, despite the fact I bought a new power tool to help (on bench to the right). Looks like the boat will be launched on Christmas without cinch points (design) or varnish (temperature).
