For many visitors, Taipei seems gray, drab and not so interesting. A purposeful (driven, focused?) industrial city. I like the miles of covered sidewalks – in the evenings they are packed with strollers and vendors. They reminded me so much of Bologna when I first got here. Taking big urban architecture and adjusting to a human walking scale.
The last picture is for my kids, I am sure they are worried that I had not found my favorite little local sidewalk breakfast cafe.

Taipei! Wonder if I will actually have culture shock when I finally have the chance to go back for a visit?
