In much of the country the 80% refers to the chance of rain that day. Here it means seems to mean it will rain 80% of the day. In December there are about 8 hours of slanting sunlight (about 20 degrees above the horizon) daily. I even bought one of these. Good climate for coffee, books, and travel to Hawaii. Not so much for outdoor adventures.
You sent your rain to us. So, yes, it has been raining 80% of the 24-hour period. I’ve managed to get out when it wasn’t raining too hard. Someone in the area had sunshine, but that stuff never made it here. If we get a clear sky it’ll probably be at night. At least there’s a good lightshow going on amongst the stars!
