Cool rainy dark day – but remember, in less than 6 weeks, every day will be longer than the day before (FYI – Seattle on Dec 21: Sunrise 7:55am Sunset 4:20pm) . Paddled the canoe up from Bothell (6 miles RT). Water level up from the record rain: bald eagle, herons but the salmon run is almost over.
I finally tried using my kayak racing paddle in my canoe. I not completely happy with the experience – the canoe is a lot faster with it. In the canoe with my ZRE Rec paddle I am about 35% slower than in the kayak, but with the kayak paddle the difference in only 20%. I like single blade better but now I have to think it through. Maybe use my dream OC-1 as a surfski/HPK?
