Friday I sailed on a buddy’s boat from Seattle to Port Ludlow on a crisp clear spring day. Steady NW wind at 10-12kts.
Port Ludlow is a protected and isolated community/resort on the Olympic Peninsula.
Saturday was the regional championship for the T/37. We competed for 4 hours in multiple races and heats. The first few races we just drifted around. Then a predicted front came through and my buddy impressed the fleet with his skill in high winds:

In the end there was a 3-way tie for 1st place so it went to the tie-breaker formula. I ended up placing 2nd.
We were all tired so we decided to stay another night and celebrate. Another buddy let me sleep on his boat, Simpatico
On Sunday, Karma paid us back as we had to sail back to Seattle in a cold rain with winds varying from 5 to 20+ kts. 6 hours on the rail in the liquid sunshine was a good test of my sailing gear.

Yes I do still check in, far more often than I write on my own blog. Just re-read that interesting post (Rant) from 2014. Prescient.
