Last night I 
channeled memories of my teenage summers on the farms to construct a very simple, old-fashioned fence gate as part of our effort to discourage our deer friends from eating berries and vegetables before they are ready.

It was very nice of you to provide her with a pleasant view of your house, of the garden, and in a safe enough place for her to relax as well. I hope she appreciated that! Alas, like humans (or maybe we’re more like them than they are like us), she probably only notices what she doesn’t have anymore.
