Bad planning

I just recently became aware of a quote attributed Roald Amundsen

“Adventure is just bad planning”

Although it severely undermines the whole spirit of this blog, I have to admit that I have posted more than one entry that proves his point. A well-planned trip becomes just an opportunity to take pictures (or kick yourself for not understanding photography better – itself an adventure) and any trip that is not well-planned becomes an adventure, for good or bad.

But, to Roald with much deserved respect, whatever! I am going to continue my blog.
Short hike today. 3m. Interesting micro climate issue: the inversion started to break up today so at higher elevations under tall trees it became a little dangerous because the ice that formed at the tree tops above 500′ started breaking up and bopping us poor recreationalists on the head. At lower elevations it was not a problem.
