This weekend was a kayak camping trip – graduation ceremony for the Coho. The boat passed in almost every respect and exceeded in two categories:
– Smooth as silk in waves: a great expedition boat. I was completely comfortable in the conditions (unlike last September)
– Pretty: many comments on the ferry, docks and on the islands.
It failed in one area – posterior comfort, but I knew that already and am working on it.
The hatches were completely waterproof. Everything arrived dry. And there seems to be much more room for storage than the other (longer) boat.
Not everyone gets to take a ferry someplace. I am fortunate because I can when I want, but then I often saw people take kayaks on board and wondered what that was like. Now I know and I want to do it more. So, what it is it like wheeling your boat on to a huge ferry? Not terribly fascinating but here is the CohoCam to show you anyway (see the cam in the pic above?):
