After a rainy windless day, it cleared up and got windy in time for our sail. Just Dean Martha and I on GJ. We practiced for about an hour then Bullet showed up.
D drove. 1st race covered Bullet but had no upwind speed and were passed. We were under 10 seconds at the windward mark. On the set the spin halyard shackle was off. Had to reattach it, but then put it back on through the spreader. So had to clear everything and start over. Race over. Oh well..
2nd race – did not catch the port line advantage. We lost only a couple boats lengths to windward. They had to gybe set and we were set for starboard as the wind backed (S race up to Carillon). Big pass by us. They got within a half boat length at the end but then we surged and won by 4.
